Before You Start
|
|
Closed Checks (Inclusive Tax, Quick Service) | Daily Operations Summary |
One date at a time | Multi-day exports for comparison |
It mishandles double tax scenarios and will show inflated figures that won't match Supy. |
Step 1 | Get Revenue Figures from Supy |
1. Open Supy and navigate to the POS Sales import
2. Select the specific date you want to validate
3. Note down both values:
• Total POS Sales Excl. Tax — net revenue
• Total POS Sales Incl. Tax — gross revenue

Step 2 | Open the Correct Report in Micros Simphony |
1. Log in to Micros Simphony
2. Navigate to Reports → Closed Checks
3. Select specifically: Closed Checks (Inclusive Tax, Quick Service)

This exact report variant is required. Any other Closed Checks variant will NOT contain the 'Sales Net VAT' column needed for matching. |
Step 3 | Filter by Date & Location |
1. Set the date to the specific day you are validating
2. If there are multiple locations/properties, select the specific outlet you are checking
3. If there is only one location, leave the default as-is
Step 4 | Filter Out Negative Checks — Very Important |
Before validating totals:
1. Review the report for negative checks
2. Exclude or filter out any checks with negative total values
Why is this necessary? • Any correction or update should be applied directly to the original check. • Creating a separate negative check reduces total revenue in the Simphony report. • These negative entries are not actual sales — they are adjustments entered incorrectly. • If included, they will cause a mismatch with Supy totals. |
Filtering negative checks ensures your totals reflect actual sales and match what Supy has recorded. |
Step 5 | Add the "Sales Net VAT" Column |
1. In the Closed Checks report, from Manage Columns, add the Sales Net VAT column
2. This column represents the net (exclusive tax) revenue per check
If you don't see 'Sales Net VAT', you are in the wrong report variant. Go back and confirm you selected: Closed Checks (Inclusive Tax, Quick Service). |
Step 6 | Download & Sum the Report |
1. Export / Download the report as a spreadsheet (Excel / CSV)
2. Open the file and sum the following:
→ Sales Net VAT column → compare against Supy's Total POS Sales (Exclusive Tax)
→ Check Amount column → compare against Supy's Total POS Sales (Inclusive Tax)
Step 7 | Compare the Totals |
Supy Field | Simphony Column | Match? |
Total POS Sales (Excl. Tax) | Sales Net VAT |
|
Total POS Sales (Incl. Tax) | Check Amount |
|
Both figures match → Day is validated!
Figures don't match → Re-check the report variant, column selection, and confirm negative checks are excluded
↳ If everything looks correct and figures still don't match, report the issue to Supy Support.
When raising an issue, please share the following: • Retailer name • Branch name • Date(s) with the discrepancy • Supy figures — Total POS Sales (Excl. Tax) and Total POS Sales (Incl. Tax) • Oracle Simphony Closed Checks figures (after removing any negative checks if present) |
